I'm curious. When one considers the above, how two executives are now sitting free in Cyprus while another is free in India, do any of A@P's followers believe either of the below:

* That A@P's arrest was untimely.

* That he should not have been arrested, that he probably didn't do anything wrong.

* That although arrested he should have been released on bail.

* That A@P's trading strategies never targeted the mom and pops, the Johnny Ed-types, of America.

From what I've been reading over the years from the short folk, I think it's very possible that a similar news and futuristic article, like the one referenced in the NYT above, could have read something like: "And Amr Elgindy, one of America's premier and most notorious shortsellers, is now free in Lebanon." And that we'd further be reading on this thread many kudos from many of his followers who'd be praising him awash in a legendary status on how he "beat the system."
