I think a society is morally decadent when a killer is worth more than the crime he committed. He certainly does not warrant further study as kholt suggests. I think the sterile way we kill killers is also wrong. They were sentenced in a public court and should be executed in a public arena.

Yeah, I know that the death penalty used to be applied to what would now be considered minor crimes. Some, such as poaching, wouldn't even be felonies.

True people where quicker to use the death penalty but poaching was considered a major crime in many places at certain times in history even if it isn't considered to be one now.
