My own useless prediction:

S. Korea - Germany 3-1

Klose scores early with (what else?) a header, then the Germans proceed to imitate the Italian catenaccio, the Koreans relentlessly attack and manage to score three goals and Kahn saving another five (with two shots hitting the goalpost)...Then everyone wonders how in the heck Germany made it this far and dudes, this Korean team is a team of destiny...

Of course, just kiddin...but, hey you never know, we are in uncharted territory with two Asian teams in the semis (Turkey is one...take a look at the map<g>).

I must say I really enjoy the Korean team...they are playing the game as it was meant to be played...attack, attack, attack...total football, it almost reminds me the beautiful Dutch team of the late 70's! I think a Brazil - S. Korea will be a beauty.

I will take Germany winning before Turkey....please I could not stand to see Turkey in the final....that's just unimaginable...then again, I could see Korea in the final because they have played their guts out...

Only four games left...then another long four years:(

I think the Koreans might have a hard time penetrating the German penalty area. Against both Spain and Italy they looked great on the open field, but showed little imagination when it came to driving in close, especially through the middle. The attackers like to run at defenders, but they lose the ball a lot while doing it; they don't quite have the Brazilian skill. I don't see Kahn letting in a long shot, and high crosses won't do them much good, with Kahn and all those tall defenders in there.

I think the most likely source for a Korean goal would be fast breaks down the wings, flooding the area with attackers and whipping in low crosses before the defence sets up... but what do I know?

Korea will have to avoid giving up corners or free kicks in their own end of the field.

If the Germans keep their shape and maintain discipline it will be hard for Korea to break them down. If not, anything can happen.....

Turkey will be tougher for Brazil than many people think, I'd guess... their defence is solid and tough, and they have real offensive threats in Hasan Sas and Yildiray Basturk. I wonder if they will start Hakan Sukur... he hasn't done much for them so far.

I wonder who Brazil will start in Ronaldinho's key place... I'd like to see a bit of Kaka, the 20 year old playmaker that hasn't touched the field yet. People that have seen him in the domestic league say he is a remarkable player with unlimited potential. Pretty audacious to put him in now, though.

We'll see....
