Not only that but the majority of the estimated 8-10 million illegals already here are on expired visas.
Who knows how many terrorist types... The truth of the matter is that the INS has little control.
No where near enough manpower.


I think the equation has 2 parts. On one side, you have the requirements / laws / administrative rules for what it would take, how many man-hours to deport an illegal alien (the same applies to conviction of a criminal) and on the other side of the equation, you have the manpower.

There is no point adding manpower (spending $$$) on one hand of the equation, when the other side of the equation is totally out of control. You could achieve 1o times if the # of manhours needed to handle a deportation case dropped from 100 hours to 10 hours (just a ballpark figure).

The US already has border patrol, coast guard, immigration and naturalization, and they have a lot of people working for them. It is not just up to them to enforce the laws better. The laws / procedures need to be changed, from the current ones written by ACLU to something more rational and enforceable.
