I think there were others but I don't know.

Gold was pegged until Richard Nixon floated the dollar in 78?

Of course during the time it was pegged it went from $28 to $36 /oz (someone else can verify the numbers).

In hindsight, it is obvious gold stocks went up during the Depression as a result of the government manipulating gold prices upward ;)
