"You would find satisfaction in the punishment and I wouldn't. It is the punishment-centric approach that I am questioning." My only concern is that a victim should be satisfied. The victim is the only party that should receive satisfaction and unless that party is satisfied there is no justice. The only scientific way to study criminals is in the act of crime. Commissioning a study to see how criminals interact during lunch break would be a futile approach.
