Limtex:

Neat box. But,....
Try typing on a small keypad.... not easy, even for the good typers among us. Also, one has to pay for the air time.... premium rates so far.

I love GPS (have done beta test work for some of the producers for over a decade) and am on my 14th GPS installation in my homebuilt airplane). I also carry a portable GPS in the car when I am heading out for long trips. No operating costs at all on these. I have long written about GPS as one of those technologies that really change the way we live. But GPS is also becoming commoditized (courtesy of that remarkable Rockwell 12 channel GPS engine chip of a few years ago) and is becoming dirt cheap. Having it available on one's phone is neat if you don't already have it.

Not knocking the package, as it is a beauty, but just don't see the public scrambling to get aboard (yet) and the operating costs need to come down to get that mass appeal working. Keep in mind as well, that so far, the actual service reliability (especially in continuous service mode) is just as bad as standard analog cell phone service in many locales,..... which is an irritant to prospective purchasers. By the way, GPS/email combos have been around for some time now (Magellan).

Best, Earlie

Limtex, that's an awesome looking phone. Too bad nobody offers CDMA where I live. Kinda weird, too, since I live on the edge of Silicon Valley. Somehow, when they were putting up the towers, we got skipped. ):
