NEW YORK, June 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Electric Fuel Corporation (Nasdaq: EFCX - News), the world's leading zinc-air fuel cell company, today announced it will be launching INSTANT POWER(TM) Chargers for power hungry communicator or "convergence" devices at PC Expo in New York City on June 25. These devices fully integrate the functions of a PDA and a cellphone into one unit, while also providing e-mail and Internet capabilities.

The new series of Instant Power chargers are currently available the recently announced Handspring Treo series; RIM Blackberry 5810 & 5820; mmO2's xda; and the Audiovox Thera.

The extended performance offered by this new generation of devices requires high power because these new PDAs mostly have large color screens and are paired with a cellphone whose advanced communication circuits need a similarly advanced communicator. On the other hand, users require small and light devices, leaving little room for batteries. As a result, users find themselves running out of batteries much faster than with traditional devices.

The INSTANT POWER family of on-the-go chargers addresses these issues with its light weight, high capacity PowerCartridges, powered by zinc-air fuel cells. Each can provide up to three charges; anywhere, anytime. The INSTANT POWER Chargers will be marketed as stand-alone units or in combination packages with car adapters, USB adapters and travel chargers. They will allow traveling users to charge in their car, to charge from their laptops or from a regular electric outlet.

Electric Fuel President and CEO Yehuda Harats commented, "A new generation of communicators is opening a new market for our products. Their high demand for power is a perfect match for our high power Chargers. We will keep business people up and running even if their battery has run out."
