Brainfart question of the day

Will the airlines become government operated? Sound stupid?

Think about this:

UAL is around 11

55 million shares out

Market cap - 650 mil

Now they want a 1.8 billion dollar bailout. Gee......."we can run the company if you give us 3 times its market cap in cash"

They are losing 43 per share - Not .43 - 43.00

Why would we give a company 1.8 billion when we could buy the whole damn thing for 650 million?

National interest right? Sure!

So back to the question:

Will the airlines become government operated?

After all - even our government is smart enough not to bail out a business at 3 times the cost of buying it - aren't they?

So....whats the catch, right?

Well......as you're on Amjet (the new Amtrack of the sky) just think of how well Social security runs while you're tooling along at 600 MPH at 35,000 feet

Another deep, Gloop thought
