You must be kidding.

The way it works:

First the press finds you guilty of doing what will win favor for those reporting you. Second, you're sentenced by the media. Third, the society takes away all your money because it finds a scapegoat for its own failures.

theoretically, but not in practice. My inclination, based on experience, is to believe she did what she is being accused of. But again, I dont know much about this specific case, and without access to all the information, my opinion about Martha is only that. I am perfectly willing to be wrong, but not about the premise that she should be investigated and pursued to the full extent of the law, however that turns out. I just happen to be a jaded cynic, especially when it comes to the absurdly wealthy and powerful.
