I would expect that CSCO and AMZN could be left for dead when this is all over. The slide this afternoon begs the question: What happens when a market fails a major retest? We are too apt to assume that the retest will be passed. I think we are the fast-track headed downhill now, in search of a new "bottom" to test. I think DOW 7500-8200 is the right range for an intermediate bottom.

Foreign selling complicates things. In Europe, the whole world stops in July-August. They don't want to own US paper this summer -- that is what the markets are telling us. And they would just as soon sell now and get it over with so they can enjoy the summer. Sentiment and the VIX in the US might be telling us zilch this time around, except that we have lost control of our own financial destiny.
