My source on index futures says they "may be about to lose it" (the battle to prop up the Dow). Not sure what he's looking at, but he saw something ugly in the Dow futures here.

Which Do You Think We See First SPX 887 Or 1087? Will SPX be higher or lower on the last day of Shrub's first term than it was on the day he took office? Has a President ever been elected to a second term when the market was lower on election day for the second term than it was on the day he took office? Everyone's thoughts welcome. On the issue which your post addressed, we may be close to a market clearing event but we are no where near capitulation. I'm pretty sure that after the close of the day before capitulation After Hours the futures will not be trading essentialy flat
