Thanks. That helps fill in some of the details. I'm probably
overly cautious but I've just seen so many retailers that
looked solid go under. I was in Sears in Wpg. recently and
was appalled. When they bought Eatons, I gave them two years
before Eatons went broke again and wondered if it might not
drag Sears down with it. I wasn't far off the mark. By
talking to a very frustrated clerk recently, I discovered that they
were cutting staff so severely that the store was all self-serve, the clothes, etc. were jammed in like in a warehouse,
hours were being cut. Even though it was the prime season
for weddings, they'd cut staff in the wedding supplies area.
Sounds pretty desperate to me.

The one IPO in food I might be interested in if it came to
market is Dairy Queen. Line ups every night. Lots of young
people, families. Obviously a popular spot. Customers look
happy.

Hey russet,
When I was young and we lived inner city A&W ruled... We'd go for a drive, park in the A&W lot. The waitress would bring out the food on a window tray loaded with Papa Mama and Teenburgers..onion rings and fries and of course mass quantities of root beer...

We moved to the burbs....Harvey's came a long and hurt them and then MacDonalds put the final nail in even before Wendy's arrived...

Now when I think of A&W I think of that old movie The Last Picture Show ...

Kastel
