Much easier to detect synthetic diamonds than it is to make them. gia.org Lack of fungibility is simply other side of the "small, easy-to-hide" coin. Not really important. A good quality, well-cut diamond is simply a store of value, just like gold. Or a share of QCOM. Plus, diamonds (not gold) are a girl's best friend. Ask your wife which she prefers.
