The great majority of drillbit plays ultimately fail.

The ratio is 170 failed drill programs to each successful one. Some companies are better than others. BHT has an ace up its sleeve ( in the form of Einstein and Neuton ) and has increased the ratio of good strikes to duds. People and a rep are also worth following. The two Bobs , Freidland , John Hislop come to mind and there are many others.

To get a really good idea of what can happen go back 10 or twenty years and read about the plays on any given month.Damn few will still be around today.

Best regards

I am not sure what I did but this post is very weirdly reproduced. My run on sentence done run off the page.

Oops it fixed itself on the third edit.

Ok kwik primer on geology. There is rock. It is hard or not so hard. For the most part, except in San Franciso, it is hard enough to stand on. Then it may have some metals in it. Or it may not. It is generally on your claims until you have to prove it. then it is generally disappointing.

To get technical most crust rock is a silicate of metals. Potassium, sodium, aluminum, magnesium, iron, silicon, and oxygen make up a great percentage of the rock out there. There are two main groups K,Na,Al silicon dioxide, and ferro-magnesian silicates. Add sulfur to the metals and you have sulphides or recoverable metals.

That should be good for a PhD.

Mines are dead easy to find. If you wanted me to I could find you a dozen in a half an hour. Quite seriously. The difficulty is convincing someone to give you the money to develop one.

marcos, I am sorry it has taken me so long to respond to your post. Thank you so much for your thoughts!

Last week I sold GFI and BGO for profit. After reading your thread and the .A to Z Junior Mining Research Site thread I have decided to try the juniors instead.

Your post about the longshots was very helpful, and your primer was wonderful. I especially love the "sell half on a double, a third on a triple" statement. That would be wonderful! ;-) And yes I won't forget your important statement "The great majority of drillbit plays ultimately fail."

I will continue reading and perhaps buy some this week.

Thanks again,

Norma
