WRT the national debt....that was a known commodity. We can argue who was responsible but lets just agree (for board purposes) to say it was the cost of ending the cold war. I don't totally buy that but the debt was a known issue. Although I think there was some tinkering that was a BAD long term idea during the Clinton admin.......lets just skip to today.

Bush inherited an economy that was FAR MORE on the ropes than anyone is admitting. The resulting tax reductions and deficit spending were the only option. We had no other choice unless we wanted to raise the white flag in 2001 and say..."We surrender." That wasn't going to happen and it was the right choice. One has to wonder about a government that needs to tax income at the rate of about 50% (SS, Medicare & 28% Fed W/H) on top of gas tax, sales tax, cigarette tax, beer tax, luxury tax, cap gains tax, state tax, local tax, property tax..........shall I go on?

Then we get to see Tom DascHOLE come out and finger Bush for the current economic problems. People......if you buy the fact that ANY president can effect a multi trillion dollar economy in 2 years you are CALIFORNIA DREAMIN! Bush is not to blame for this. Susie - you have a right to be disillusioned and what I have been saying in a round about way almost all day (since I'm in a pesky mood) is its time for some Civil Disobedience!

I have further commentary/opinions but I don't want to upset the RED WHITE AND BLUE PRIDE of the non thinking rednecks on SI.
