Someone on another thread pointed out that what wcom did, capitalizing development costs, was the opposite of what the SEC went after Microsoft for recently - not capitalizing development costs. I do not write this to criticize or excuse either company. But the government usually wants to have it both ways and somehow they seem to get to.

Scott, since I often talk about market history, the first two paragraphs stood out quite nicely. Same comments I've seen in past boom/bust cycles. As the panic sets in, the bottom is getting close. 64k question is do we get a rebound fairly quickly, or does tech continue a 1983 type downturn, which lasted quite a few years... I do think we are looking at a historic opportunity in telecom for the survivors though.

Regards,
John

PS - Does Bernie have to still pay 408 million back to a bankrupt company ??? <ggg>
