George Cole pointed out on Zeev's thread today that if they drop rates tomorrow it could spook the markets as much as anything else, it would be to show fear ... they're already at forty-year lows, and the CRB picking up a little, dollar falling .... so why would they ease? ... no fundamental reason i should think ... people would just start to make comparisons with the japanese for whom extreme easing didn't work either

You italicise 'some' in 'some light industrial real estate', quite rightly ... just depends, is your area growing and how much is it growing ... again, fundamentals matter in the end more than interest rates ... of course they too are a fundamental but you know what i mean .... different story here in the GWN, our rates are starting to rise, one hike already and another expected ere long ... we never had the intense and phoney 'wealth effect' of the techstock mania, so don't have to go through the poverty effect of its undoing ..... well we had less of the tech mania, not none ..... raw land here is getting interest it hasn't for years, don't know about the class of which you speak, but the most surprising piece of potential development land, one i've been involved with for years [not as owner, sadly], has just had an offer made on it, and accepted, remains only to satisfy the 'subject tos' .... which we don't think is going to happen, it will fall through, even so the level of interest expressed was surprising ... but it shouldn't be, it's time for that part of the cycle ... real estate and gold went hand in hand through the late seventies, you can pyramid one or you can pyramid the other, one is liquid and the other emphatically not .... of course in the sharemarket you can't get ninety-five per cent margin -g- [i was stunned to see the leverage used on one deal about a year ago, guy took huge risk, now it is clearly paying off for him, but he must have been sweating there for a while]

'a ver que se ofrece barato... ' - del chacuaco viene humo, ceniza ... muy baratos ellos, sí, y por razón - es que no queremos morder el polvo -g- ... todavía es temprano ... viene el día, pero no pronto a mi ver

And it won't be the high-flyers of the late nineties mania that run, it'll be some other group ... same old story, new players .... meantime, el oro del loro, amigo - kitco.com - '+1.66%' ... muchísimo apalancamiento en las acciones ... interesting day tomorrow, yes looks like, but i have a morning date, might miss the open even, aaargh ... anyway, bienvenido al Invierno -g-
