Jay,

I meant to write to you about this earlier, but since you raised the topic....HK has another advantage: the likes of you, which we are privileged to share, and did you see our man Marc Faber's piece in Barron's this week, esp his performance on stock forecasts in Jan...

Thank you.
Selva

<I attended a lecture ... topic was 'Changing Economic Leadership - Is America losing its economic supremacy and leadership, and if so, what is to follow?' ... the American lady from the US Embassy came out in staunch defence of the US, and how all attendees (including speaker) should be grateful for their having attended US universities, that the US was still the ultimate, only magnet for best of education, good life, freedom etc>

Poor dear! Doesn't she understand that a lot of, if not most, people have no aspiration to live in the USA, including hordes of Americans? Doesn't she understand that the USA should be grateful to the hordes of people around the world who have provided the necessaries to make the USA pre-eminent? They can also with-hold those essentials. It's a two-way street.

Doesn't she understand that freedom is not an American invention [the Statue of Liberty came from France] and that the USA doesn't actually feel that free to a lot of us compared with our home village? Such as Freedom Rock for you and Hobbitland for me [not that I'd like to pretend we have an excess of freedom - but we are allowed to play golf sometimes].

What is to follow the USA? That's easy. It. We are now in the process of taking over. Right there in broad daylight, un-noticed. By the time people understand what's happening, it'll be game over. They locked Ted Kaczynski up, thinking him a nutter. Hahahaahahah!!!
