if this volume were to keep up we would trade 4.5 billions shares om COMPX today LOL! I now think more than short covering, i think Fed is passing out money to the funds, in otherwords just plain mindless sandbagging that will only cause greater damage, as they just p--- away more money and more money. max, based on what I've read, margin selling is usually done by about 12:30 lunchtime.
Early dip buyers, probably going to get smacked by margin selling, IMHO.
Vince Farrel just mentioned, he was hoping we would get like 400 down on the INDU and get this over with.
