Fed meets amid acute market sell-off By Julie Rannazzisi
Amid the market turbulence, the Fed is holding a two-day meeting to decide on rates, which will conclude in the afternoon. Michael Paulenoff, co-founder of 2Mstrategies.com, said he'd like to be a fly on the wall at the Fed gathering to see how they address the crisis of confidence that's enveloping Wall Street and threatening the U.S. economy. Paulenoff said he'd scrutinize every word in the Fed's statement for unusual words that could hint at upcoming actions to support financial markets. "They will have to recognize that extraordinary circumstances are unfolding."
