I really don't see what is wrong with being crooked in business as long as you have rich and powerful friends, you get away with it, give a tax deductible inconsequential amounts to charity, and display an arrogant unrepentant contempt for the public, and any sort of reckoning of your actions. That is bound to be popular with the people reading dime novels. Does anybody really take a shine to people in CEO rehab, or do kiddies want to grow up to be just like Kenneth Lay? (We cut to a suburban scene a short time in the future) "Mommy! Mommy! Kenny is hogging my toys and he has sold a partnership in them to the boy next door and he is claiming a tax deduction!" Mommy: "Send Kenny in, he can lick the bowl, now off the bed and no TV, crybaby." (To Kenny) "That's my little CEO, boy is your brother a sucker, I guess he will have to work for a living, there is just no upward mobility for him.. now where do you suppose my credit cards are?
