standard conventions of English

The standard conventions of English when a single person uses the term "we" instead of "I" say that he is:

1. using the term arrogantly as in the royal we
2. is diluting blame

Since the newsletter is called Bob Brinker's Marketimer, I don't see where the "we" comes in anywhere in any proper sense. I suppose he could also be diluting praise but since he never says who the "we" is, I'm not so sure about that.

Attributing less-than-admirable motives to someone for following standard conventions of English is one example.

Are denial and rationalization also standard conventions of English?
