the point i'm making is that on both sides of the aisle, the talk is of corporate "responsibility"....and if gephardt is to be believed a lot of the impetus is coming from the CEO's...

otoh, i think it's in the interest of the dems to dither and let the market malaise continue into the election...unless they come up with a "plan" to restore confidence in reported earnings and the market responds favorably....and they can take "credit"

i think the political pressure is on to "fix this"...if the cure looks better than the disease, i expect the "bottom fishers" to come out in force once they feel confident earnings can be trusted.

doesn't matter whether it's really true or not.....just that the perception is there.
