I believe you had mentioned it was not bullish for gold.

The fact is that it is extremely bullish. Gold's movements are becoming more and more independent of the equity market's malaise.

The true move in gold will be induced, as always, by lack of faith in fiat money (read: staglfation). The demise of the equity market is just the first stage of the cleansing process.

And yes, a housing bust is part of the scenario. My former Stern finance professor, who was a visiting prof from Wharton, has the repercussions of a dollar induced 0 current account in a very interesting model that will be published soon.
