If not the trough, sure as heck near it. The washouts are out there. Interesting sidenote: a friend of mine is doing some work for MSFT, apparently they are losing money hand over fist with some of their brand extensions (MSN [this I know is true since I'm in that biz], XBox, .Net) and are trying to determine what to do with them. Sticking to core competencies sure is looking what pays off in this environment. MSFT won't "lose" money since they are earning so much elsewhere, but Billy doesn't like to lose cash anywhere. He's been keeping MSN on life support for so long, it's ridiculous. Just mentioned that to point out how distracted MSFT is lately.
