LOL. No, that's not right. He gives me a kidney to make me whole. His giving up his life for taking mine does not make me whole. That's retribution. Reparations would be him supporting my family, using his considerable resources to find someone with my unique talents to replace me at the office, giving his favorite island to my favorite charity, the Nature Conservancy, giving his kidney to my brother Harry to whom I had planned to donate mine... Could be anything.

Parole boards supposedly do this all the time. I don't remember the numbers, but a rather high percentage of parolees end up getting re-arrested while on parole.

I've already addressed this. The evaluation of criminals under my model would be better than that available to parole boards under the current system. The trigger would also be different. Currently convicts come up for parole at a date driven by the length of his sentence. My model wouldn't have sentence lengths. People would move on when those who live and work with the criminals judge them to be ready.
