Really? I thought it was more of a draw.

One thing that bothered me was that Coulter defended Jerry Falwell's post 9-11 statements as being "straight Christian doctrine".

I can't agree with her on that. First, my own understanding of Christian beliefs is that they don't include any individual appointing himself as the moral judge of another. In fact, Matthew 7:1 says "Judge not, that ye be not judged."

Second, if the statements were "straight Christian doctrine," why were they later disavowed by the man who was standing onstage next to Falwell when he made them, and then apologized for by Falwell himself?

In my own opinion, liberals and conservatives are equally capable of exhibiting fanaticism, intolerance and hypocrisy.
