Phoenix,

LOL, yep if only I had those kind of "nerves of steel" to take a draw down like that like a man who knows what he is doing. But, to be honest I was at work and ruminating that we were going to reverse at some point. Thought I would take a silly gamble not really based on anything other than that guess...and not an educated one...except maybe we had fallen quite a bit over Worldcom and seemed to settle so ..... Well anyway, I thought I would give up a few points to see what happens. I had made a few points earlier in my usual haphazard way so why not give it back? But, what transpired certainly wasn't by design.

All I can think of is that I typed in the limit amount rather than use the scroll bars. I must have typed in a 5 instead of a 6 and it just didn't register in my brain(not all that unusual, I must admit). BTW, trading at work is something I rarely do and probably shouldn't do. And I recall I was thinking that I would set this up...set up the stop and then get to meetings and lunch, I wouldn't see it until well after the market closed. What a surprise.

Yes, I'm holding it overnight with a big stop(973 and triple checked!!).

Thanks for the tip on the 200sma5 at 982, I'll keep an eye on that for sure.

Sounds like that platform software was not written with overnight positions in mind, LOL. But, like they, whoever they are, always say "as long as it works"!!

Phoenix,

You said yesterday "Needs to clear the 200sma5 at about 982 first." This is where I got out and, at the time, was a good place to do it. I put 200sma5 on my chart but I don't understand where that comes from?
