mm- QCOM is now moving down the runway. It was about mobile data over two years ago. The mistake if anythign that we should all have realized wasn't the price since none of us could have forecast this mess but what we could have forecast was the interminable delays.

When over tow years ago we were sittin there expecting 1X around the corner I don't think that any of us thought that by the end of 01 it wouldn't be in the US and yet here we are almost at Jul 02 and PCS is still not here yet and VZ has a paltry offering of handsets in the stores.

As for the Europeans there isn't one country with 3G in it today. That would have been though incredible two years ago. Although I distinctly remember Dr Jacobs saying that his nightmare was something gonig wrong and the Europeans not getting their act together. His nightmare came true.

I think none of realized the huge technical feat that QCOM have had to achieve to get 1X up and running commerically. Month by month we will hopefully see Japan improving and we may see PCS in action in July.

As for Europe it looks like a dead duck to me. more and more delays.

Still QCOM is on the runway and gathering speed. Eight Chinese cities are 1X enabled. Eight Chinese cities can be the equivalent in population of Scandanavia!

Brew hasn't even started in the US and whatever else it is more earnings.

The World isn't coming to an end. The US economy is not going up in smoke and it will get back to 4% growth sooner or later and the telecom world will adjust to meet the issues of no long distance and low profitability.

And data volumes carried will increase massively as 1X devices start spearheading the move from voice to audio/visual messaging. And QCOM will benefit from all this.

Best,

L
