In case you forgot, Stalin was one of the most brutal dictators in history. He would have liked to expand his influence into America, hence the Cold War. So if Joe McCarthy got a little over-wrought, a thinking person can understand why. Nothing he did compares to the potentiality he sought to prevent. You can thank your lucky stars it was prevented, no thanks to you.

Nonsense, as regards the wording in the Pledge, the words "in God" were inserted by a hysterical Congress in a fit of religious fervor and insanity only in 1954.

As you will recall, the a large chunk of the country's heritage from the era was later revealed as a shameful witchhunt by an alcoholic, power-mad coward.
