Stock options are a concern, but some companies are very strongly leveraged to the economy, so potential growth in revenues and profits should outweigh any accounting changes. You have to remember that we are looking at earnings that have been severely depressed by the recession.

I do agree that it is difficult to find many big companies that look attractive as long term holds. GE is probably as good as any. Perhaps the most likely scenario is that we are at the bottom of a trading range. I don't see why we shouldn't get back to the levels of January. Longer term I think that the market will need new leadership.
