I'd say the Court probably should have left well enough alone. Those words in the Pledge were pretty harmless and kept the majority happy and quiet. Let them have their meaningless bone. Any atheistic/agnostic who can't stand that much religion had better find another planet. There's no country on this one that doesn't have that much or more.

This makes me think of Roe v. Wade. Prior to that, there was an unwritten rule in American politics that religion and politics would not be mixed. It took a number of years- -I was surprised at how long- -but after a while, the identity of both major parties became commingled with their stances on religion.

This could be yet another spark that sets off yet another powder keg. And I'm heavily outnumbered.

So all the atheists and agnostics are dancing in the street either.
