you lost me. what does that have to do with cognitive dissonance? if you're suggesting i've created a state in my mind where i need to rationalize the market going up or down, you are incorrect. i am currently flat and don't particularly care which way the trend goes...i just want a trend.

[that's not quite true: i would like the trend to be up because i have friends and family who have been hurt badly by the market.]

that said, i firmly believe we need a solid housecleaning for the long term health of the market and of our society.

PS no personal attack inferred! if we can't discuss here, where can we discuss?

The cognitive dissonance I am referring about is all the riff raff that is getting cleaned out.

Learn from history.

When did Penn Square fail?

Where was the market and what happened soon thereafter?

Accounting alchemy was the unwinding of the S & L mess.

The SEC stepped up dubious accounting practices in July 1984.

Remember Coopers and Lybrand?

Right now...

It starts from the top down from the President of the U.S. all the way on down to corporate America...

I believe Bush is serious about directing change and re-establishing hope and confidence... his words... he means what he says...

Bush is a man of faith...

I wish you and your family a healthy financial recovery.

Best Regards, J.T.
