Mike:

I don't follow the tool companies much, so I don't have a feel for those you're interested in.

stuff sounded hot, but then Variagenics blew up. I am
at a loss <g>. <<

Very frustrating story..... Crouch, IMO, was a flat out liar. IMO, he went so far as to lie to my face, after I had asked a question in a breakout. But, beyond issues of honesty, it is difficult to understand how their partnering projections could have been THAT far away from what actually happened. A second situation where, like GLIA, I talked with the CFO, liked him, and then puked when I met the CEO.

I still own every share, and I've been buying more.

Magic leverage? TLRK and NBIX, but they're not your style. Those getting short CVTX should look at the preclinical programs and pipe, IMO. But I only have a tiny amount, while I study more. VPHM could go to $0, but it could also be a 20-bagger within four years. RGEN's CTLA4 strategy? It's fun to be in there, playing. Smidge. GLFD, KOSN, MLNM '04 leaps. Lots of others.

I've just got a "no way it's doing anything but going up" basket that will need little adjusting. I'll have to throw out a broken stock on occasion (well, the basket is largely COMPOSED of broken stocks, but......), but most of my resources are out of the trading basket. IMO, every biotech investor will enjoy watching TLRK as the business plan begins to mature. Too bad the stop gaps didn't fly.

Cheers! Rick
