Well fired as a term was just as inaccurate as using a quote the only represented a first impression of the author and ignoring the fact that the book was about how that was a false first impression of the author. If the interview were about the book why was ms couric speaking about a column that has nothing to do directly with the book. An extraneous event as ms airhead had little ability to read the book and come up with any kind of defense for the material presented in the book.

ms courics lack of comprehension of what is written by others is also illustrated by her context stupid insulting quote about President Reagan.

But in that we have Reagan in his own words, Ignorant ms couric was at best quoting another in airhead style as she was ignorant that he was only speaking of a false first impression. But ignorant ms couric was ignorant of the content and message of the entire book So ignorant ms couric was wrong and wrong. So no matter how you look at it ms couric was the ignorant fool.

Yes we have found out who the tele-bimbo is.
