You will find (even, though to a lesser extent, with Enron) that all companies, honest or not, give to both sides, and then weight the contributions slightly. These contributions are NOT based on ideological passion, but are, instead, a modern form of TRIBUTE, paid in self defense against the dangerous coercive power-just as tribute has been paid for 10,000 years. That's why the liberal/McCain/Perot crusade against "money in politics" is so wrong-headed. Pass a fair tax law, recognize the inviolate right of private property, and limit government to only it's legal functions, and these companies now longer have a reason to give. The Founders sought to eliminate any need for tribute, but also knew that some future generations would be stupid enough to initiate it again.

Anyone who thinks Clinton wouldn't be lying, obstructing, and protecting is pals instead of taking honest action against the problem of corporate governance and ethics is a total fool. George Bush is taking the lead here, and the whacko left will live in denial of that right up to their debacle in November, 2004

And the reason many (but not all) companies weight their tribute payments slightly against the left is obvious: The left is passionately committed to the debunked principles of Karl Marx: That all property should be public property, and any private initiative is a crime.

We should be weighting our VOTES against those principles, also...
