the top is hit when the world is long
the bottom when the world is short or could care less

market manipulation? of course
-when huge buy or sell programs are underway
-when there is a big pro squeeze in place
-on selected stocks at instants in time
-when false rumors are placed
-etc

but one does wonder why there is more talk about this when the market is down big but it was fine when the nasd ran 20-30-40% a year

maybe cause 90%+ of all people are long

Bill, I only hope one thing for the shorts....they continue to short more and a while longer! Why? First, I need to put more $ to work and I don't really want to "pay-up". Second, then they can suffer more pain when something very very bullish is announced before the market opens.
I would love to see the hedge funds get "the cr_p kicked out of them".
