What's even better is (according to flapjack), today begins the NEA's yearly convention.

Ha! That's priceless!

The party-line 5-4 Supreme Court vote on vouchers was expected. No surprise whatsoever. However, before you start your high-fivin', there are a few problem areas that must be addressed, most notably whether religious and private schools that take government money MUST comply with laws on disability (read special education students) and civil rights. Most private schools, in my opinion, will eventually choose to opt out of any voucher program because they won't want to deal with the expense of special education or the (mostly parent) problems associated with bussing inner-city kids to the 'burbs. If these schools can't cherry-pick, there's no reason for them to be accepting federal or state voucher money with strings attached.

After the proposals sort themselves out state-by-state in three years or so, 97 percent of all voucher money will go to prop up students attending religious schools (including Muslim) in inner cities, IMO.
