The U.S. TV medium is quite interesting these days. Seems that I never ever hear a siren in my life any more in bucolic Central Oregon. But when Washington's politicians are being interviewed on various TV news shows, it seems like 3 times out of 4 there is a siren somewhere in the background. Noise pollution for them, mind pollution and brainwashing for the TV audience. It's been so bad lately I wonder if they overdub the sirens just for effect.
