IS that really a 160PE in 1932?

The 'D' word is now being bandied about. From a front page story in my local rag:

"This is an earnings depression. You can't manage your way out of these things. I don't see a near term solution, so the stock market is in for a tough go for a while."

'course the economy was in a depression back then and the market didn't bottom till 1896 or 1897.

I thought the PE at the 1932 low was 6?
