from the wcom yahoo thread,

..The people at Nortel where holding meeting after meeting trying to determine why their orders from WCOM kept going down while WCOM was reporting a CAPEX budget for 2001 of 7 billion dollars...They thought they were losing business to Lucent...Lucent thought the same thing...They were losing orders to Nortel as WCOM orders kept going down... Now they both know the truth that CAPEX was overstated by 3 billion dollars for 2001!Ironic but funny nonetheless!

businesses are using the internet more and more as
part of their operations. True companies are eToy,
WebVan did not make any profit and died. On the other
hand companies that are using e-technology as a
part of streamlining business process whether it be
manufacturing, tech support, internal process, are saving money.
