The "new lax -like NO-ethical standards"-is a mixture of events-arrogant youth-(mollycodelled as the BABY BOOMERS for 30 years)-the vast GAP caused by low birthrate of the 1932-1947 period-no 65 to 75 year old widom filled ethical CEO's available-and the media's incessant intent on glorifying violence and crooks--Send all the GD Euro trash back since 1947-that replace the class of the former pre-war Wall Street crowd---that crowd was a far better breed!The mission statement of MER et al of encapsulizing separate accounts into their propritary products-mutual funds-and in effect getting people to foolishly believe they could be their own broker was the unwritten about -nail in the coffen.I couldn't be a brain surgeon-how can Joe Six Pack become a good broker overnight!Answer-he can't-BUT IT----appeals to his/her ego and it sold BIG TIME!!!!everyone got all their dough swept it into one large pile by MER and then it got blown away----MER dinegrated the word commissions and eulogized the word fees and the public bought it!.This act of SUPREME GREED totally destroyed the efficient market of a "thousand lights" ---its now one big light bulb and the switch got switched off.
