I've got a Ford Bronco locked up in the garage. It's great in the snow but I hardly use it now as it only gets about 25 miles to the gallon. Gas is expensive here.

The local bus company has a stop about 200 yrds from my house. The buses are at most 2 yrs old with the latest technology. The seats are spaced differently to take passengers of different sizes. They can take on push chairs and have plenty of hand storage space. They are super clean non smoking no eating etc.... The bus drivers are friendly and cheerful, The fares are next to nothing and the schedule is frequent. I expect buses get the diesel at cost price. The company even makes a profit.

Just goes to show what can be done. With some enlightened management I think rail roads could make an easy profit. May need some naked truths revealed though...
