want to know what the bailiff says when the 9th comes into session?

the Supreme Court opens with this: "God save the United States and this honorable court,'" according to Ari Fleischer.
I would imagine the 9th opens with something similar.

dave, The word God is extremely prevalent in many phases of our government, such as on the money, prayers said at the beginning of the sessions of the Supreme Court(but cannot be said in schools), prayers said at the opening of sessions of Congress, etc., etc., etc.

Since the two words were added to the pledge in 1954, why didn't you start your bitching then? Sounds like you are just jumping onto someone else's bandwagon. I have no use for fools that do not believe in a supreme being, that the Universe, and everything in it is just an impossible accident without help, and that human beings are the ultimate phase that life can exist. If you believe in the "big bang" theory, at every juncture of that theory, just ask yourself, "where did that come from?". Even if elements came together to produce the big bang, where did those elements come from? Every piece of the puzzle of the advent of the universe had to come from somewhere. Nothing comes from nothing.

If you are an atheist, I pity you because you have nothing to look forward to except your pitifully short time on Earth.

Acknowledging religion is a constitutional act.
Indeed, the Declaration of Independence acknowledges "God" in its very first sentence:

"When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation. We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights...
...And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.


Furthermore, the Bill of Rights doesn't prohibit acknowledging religion, or acknowledging that this country was founded upon religious principles.
