A Disconnect between Musharraf's office and the Paki Embassy as a safeguard against news leaks
There has been a differential disconnect between the office of the President of pakistan on one side and the embassy of Pakistan. Ms.Lodhi, however much she tried to represent and articulate her country's stand in the US media, she sounded more or less like a broken record limited to a dozen or so words about Indo-pak conflict over Kashmir. She repeated the stock vocabulary ad nauseam in all the interviews in the US media and sometimes tried to browbeat the interlocutors. Any info she gave was found in the newspapers previously. She had to act and talk within the confines of her job description. First of all, she was conscripted for this job for she never really wanted to work for Musharaff who sweet-talked her into the job citing national interest, importance of representing pakistan in the US etc.. This disconnect between the president of pakistan on one side and Sattar and Lodhi on the other side was deliberate in its intent for they are the sources of news for the prying media and the US Govt.
