A few years ago, I called a bullish analyst and carefully laid out how the company's execs were pulling off an (admittedly) brilliant scam. At the end of the conversation, her only remark was "It is not my job to question audited financials". My response to her borders on the non-repeatable but paraphrased I suggested that ALL good scams include audited financials. She hung up and a week later reiterated her "Strong Buy".
