MWO report: G.O.P. LIE MACHINE AND THE PLEDGE RULING
Thuggish GOP Urges Lawmakers To Encourage Lawbreaking!

mediawhoresonline.com

Amid the passions stirred by the court ruling on the Pledge of Allegiance, the G.O.P. Lie Machine chugged right into action.

According to ABC News.com, some GOPers "sought political leverage by claiming that liberal" Democratic judges "were responsible for the values reflected by the decision."

Virtually the moment the decision came down, the National Republican Congressional Committee blast-faxed its members a memo "urging them" to "put out a statement as soon as possible."

(Looks like Anthrax Coulter is on the RCCC's A list!)

The memo pointed out that a "good statement would include a call for every school board to "ignore this decision" (so much for wingnut preachings on the "rule of law"), and blame 'Liberal Democrat Tom Daschle'" and Senate Dems for "holding up 45" of Pres. Bush's "judicial nominees who would serve as a counterweight to this type of nonsense."

South Carolina G.O.P. Senatorial candidate and erstwhile House Impeachment Manager Rep. Lindsey Graham "appeared to follow" the memo's advice, issuing a statement that said: "The ruling shows how far certain elements of the judicial branch have gone to declare war on all things related to religion. It is important, now more than ever, that common-sense conservative judges be appointed and confirmed to the federal bench."

Senate Minority Leader Trent Lott also kicked in with a statement about how we " need to put judges on there that wouldn't render this kind of decision."

Only problem: the judge who handed down the pledge ruling, Alfred Goodwin, is a moderate-to-conservative Republican who was appointed to the bench by Richard Nixon! And Goodwin has taken at least one expenses-paid "educational" junket with a right-wing "economics and environment" group funded by Richard Mellon Scaife's Carthage Foundation.

For once, the G.O.P. Lie Machine slipped a cog.

But will the Whores report that? Or will they report, as ever, the G.O.P. Machine's lies?

I heard the rambling words directly from Falwell and I interpreted them exactly as Ms Coulter and I winced as I also felt they were many who would not understand they were hearing a personal conversation in a Christian dialect. Rev Falwell's mistake is that in the emotional stress of that day he forgot there was an open mike and this was not just communication with those who know the man's heart.

Rev Falwell forgot that
Ann Coulter I described in my book,
which is the constant mischaracterizations, which is a small word,
picking out the word of parents. It makes a big difference. And these
subtle differences that are then glossed over as if there's absolutely
no difference. To try to portray conservatives as crazy people, as
Nazis, slave owners, (unintelligible), homophobic, how about dealing
with our ideas?

When one is under stress many times finding the very best correct words to paint an idea properly fails. This is what occurred and Rev Falwell recognized his mistake and corrected it quickly. I believe he corrected it quickly only because others whom he trusts heard what he really said and also heard my wince interpretation and explained it and he saw it.

He acted in a very honerable way.
