She tells me that there is a fully armed county sheriff who sits in the school everyday and answers to the name of some Disney cartoon character. Yup, we're 170 miles from the nearest pita bread shop, which happens to be Greek and not Arabic, and we have a full metal protection for our little ones in a country school. Surreal?
