I assume it is the GAO and it falls under one of the cabinet sects, right? My life started shortly after '50. Since '52 we've had 30 yrs of Repubs and 20 yrs of Dems in the big office. Isn't the head honch accountable? GW is stating that fact, and that is one of his key proposals. Should not what is good for the CEO and the company/shareholder also be good for Pres and the country/citizens? Bob Bronsen (long waves) is an astute individual, in many ways, imho. If I interpreted his comments correctly, in one of his posts, he more or less predicted that the economic future will result in the almost total demise of the Republican party. If you are a bear's bear and think about it, this is not illogical. The Repubs are most definitely seen as being affiliated with 'CEO's', as compared to the Dems. There is little doubt about this. Both sides do get fed ... but the Repubs already have a war chest of very significant size built up for the upcoming elections. It all could quite easily, in my opinion, totally backfire. It depends on the timing of the next down wave. This is just discussion and need not be 'political'. In all honesty I'm totally unaffiliated. My gut desires all the incumbents get reamed. We need a house cleaning, from one end to the other. Unfortunately, even though that is what is in my gut, it might not be that constructive. Newbies aren't always the best at getting things done. There could possibly be two viewpoints here. One is that our system is not working and needs a lot of changing. Another is that it is working fine, and we're witnessing major corrections and changes in process. Hopefully it is the latter.
